【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationisforfinishedsintereduraniumdioxidepellets.Itappliestouraniumdioxidepelletscontaininguraniumofany235Uconcentrationforuseinnuclearreactors.1.2ThisspecificationrecognizesthepresenceofreprocesseduraniuminthefuelcycleandconsequentlydefinesisotopiclimitsforuraniumdioxidepelletsmadefromcommercialgradeUO2.SuchcommercialgradeUO2isdefinedsothat,regardingfueldesignandmanufacture,theproductisessentiallyequivalenttothatmadefromunirradiateduranium.UO2fallingoutsidetheselimitscannotnecessarilyberegardedasequivalentandmaythusneedspecialprovisionsatthefuelfabricationplantorinthefueldesign.1.3Thisspecificationdoesnotinclude(a)provisionsforpreventingcriticalityaccidentsor(b)requirementsforhealthandsafety.Observanceofthisspecificationdoesnotrelievetheuseroftheobligationtobeawareofandconformtoallfederal,state,andlocalregulationspertainingtopossessing,shipping,processing,orusingsourceorspecialnuclearmaterial.ExamplesofU.S.GovernmentdocumentsareCodeofFederalRegulations(LatestEdition),Title10,Part50,Title10,Part71,andTitle49,Part173.1.4Thefollowingprecautionarycaveatpertainsonlytothetechnicalrequirementsportion,Section4,ofthisspecification:Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityorregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
